CONFLICT OBSERVATORY AND PREDICTION GROUP (COP)

 CONFLICTOLOGY

The Methodology Workshop held on 7^th June 2022 was organized by the Conflict Observatory and Prediction Group (COP) as part of building and sustaining the emerging field of Conflictology. As an emerging field of study, Conflictology emboldens incisive measurements and theorization with precision, specificity, detection limit, quantitation limit and robustness. Some of the tools discussed during the workshop include, modelling, forecasting and scenario building. One of the benefits emerging out of the interdisciplinary workshop was the potential synergy created between Conflictology and other fields of study such as Geography, Climate Science, Economic Science, Psychology and Mathematics in developing solutions that cut across disciplines. The COP Group took advantage of the presence of researchers of different backgrounds to launch the long-term Research Agenda on conflictological studies of intertribal border markets.
